"I have been training with Annie for the last five years, from when I was my most fit and active, as well as through two pregnancies/pregnancy recoveries and a number of different aches, pains, and injuries along the way. She is an amazing teacher with a truly inspiring wealth of knowledge about the classical Pilates method and the countless ways it can improve your body, mind, and spirit. "Before starting practicing Pilates with Annie, I was having a hard time fitting this type of core workout into my busy weekly routine, but I’m so glad I made it a priority to schedule this time of self-care for myself to work with Annie. I had always been active but neglected to do this type of workout and I knew that my core was still weak from having two kids. I have been doing semi-private lessons with Annie for about 6 months now, and it is the hour every week I look forward to the most. Annie is very sweet, supportive, and non-judgmental in her approach. I have seen the progress in terms of my strength, endurance in holding difficult poses, and my post-baby waistline, and even my flexibility, which was never my strong suit. "I began working with Annie in 2019 after my first son was born. I had a c-section and severe diastasis recti, for which I had done extensive physical therapy. Practicing Pilates with Annie using all the equipment helped me build the strength and confidence I needed to make the transition from PT back into strenuous exercise and sports. Annie then helped me stay strong through a second pregnancy, and a second post-baby recovery. At first, the reformer looked very intimidating, but I soon learned that it actually supported my body as I tried new movements to build strength and flexibility. Annie is very knowledgeable, meticulous, and encouraging. She tailors exercises to target my exact weaknesses and it’s amazing how seemingly small adjustments can make such a big difference for pain and functionality. She is always very mindful of my personal experience and limitations, and she balances safety and pushing me further perfectly.
